Windows user cannot install it though the domain user can install.

I am glad that you got this sorted out, but I do run them both under the same account DOMAIN\svc_tfsservices with no problems...

It may be just one of those things...

The solution to this problem was to run TFSEventHandler under a separate service than TFS. The problem with the POST was due to the fact that the web service was set to run under the same service as TFS. As soon as we set the TFSEventHandler to run under a different user, the issues disappeared. The system is working now.

I am having the same issue as well. The installation was interrupted and later on couldnt get it installed. Is there any solution?

We are getting an exception when we try to start the TFSEventHandler service. The exception is raised by /Services/v1.0/Registration.asmx:

Exception Message: The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/Services/v1.0/Registration.asmx' is not allowed. (type HttpException)

Can someone point me in the right direction as to troubleshooting this? Is it a problem with the ports, or the configuration file? Thanks.

For testing purposes I want that after a Build Notification event to start the deployment of several application on a machine.

Is this possible with the extensibility. I wnat that the user have the possibility to interact with the desktop when a notification is sent to his computer.

I think that this utility have a great for testing purposes. I was trying to get this setup on a virtual machine and when the service starts to connect to the server tells me that I do not have permissions to connect to the server.

Can someone tell me if there are possibility to in some computer without priveligies (test machine) to access to the server with another account?

Hello,

I was checking out the TFS Event Handler (v0.2.0 (CTP 2)) for possibly using it in our development environment.

During installation i get the following error message after entering the service user credentials:
Error 1001. No mapping between account names en security IDs was done

Possible reason could be that the first time i run the install i cancelled the instal, because i wanted to create a custom account.

Running the install again doesn't solve the problem.

Should i register an issue with the issue tracker or is it something i'm doing wrong?

Edit: I'm using the Workgroup edition of TFS 2008 as a test server.

Some ideas for Event Handlers:

Send someone an email when they are assigned a Work Item.(Included in the Prototype release...)
Notify project managers when a new work item is added.
If a user checks in code and bypasses the check-in policies, send an email to the entire team to name and shame them
Send an email to all of the developers when a check-in occurs...

Can you think of any more you would like?

If you have any sugestions, I would apriciate it.

What I would like to do is keep control of the source code with the developers.
I would be happy to have a "production" licence grated to contributers but not their companies, but Jo Blogs should not be able to use the system without permission. "Go-Live" or some such...

I know that a lot of users would like to have workflow built into TFS. This is an interesting issue and one that I plan to address in the Community Technology Preview 2. I would be interested in any thoughts on hosting workflow and the ability to modify that workflow with an admin tool that re-hosts the workflow designer in Visual Studio.
